Life is funny

It’s been a fun albeit, hectic and crazy summer. Our family has been traveling a little and the kids have been to a few out of state camps. It’s business as usual around ggC. The website sale was a huge success and we were able to clear bunches of fabrics to make way for new and fresh designs. I love that!! It’s like Christmas around here when new fabrics are on their way and up-to-date patterns and cuts are in the workings. I live for that creative aspect of ggC!

Very often, it seems, life throws us a curveball or a bit of irony. Occasionally, I catch it while it happens but more often, hindsight is 20/20. So much of our behind-the-scenes work is invisible to you guys but just know that it is CONSTANT.. There’s always planning, forecasting, measuring, ordering, and a lot of faith thrown in there! As much as we try to plan everything out, life happens.. ya know?

Such was the case in our most recent Fall 2010 set. Details are settled, time scheduled, outfits created, models chosen.. and then the unthinkable happens to our photographer.. Sara-Anne’s laptop has a near-death experience and all she’s left with is the info on the hard drives. That means no uploading photos.. which means no editing, which means no clients get their proofs, which means a boutique’s forecast is changed, and literally a hundred people are affected. Here’s the “but”.. it was so worth it in the end. The Fall shoot continued on and even though it’s all been hugely delayed, it was awesome.

I truly believe that things happen cumulatively in life for the greater good. Our shots have begun trickling in from Sara-Anne Photography and wow, are they amazing. She never ceases to “outdo” herself. I love that she totally lets our clothing speak for itself.. the colors are never over-edited, never changed, hues never altered, embellishments never embellished. The outfits are exactly as you see in the shots.

I’ll leave you with the lastest shots from this one outfit. I love it so much! Isn’t her work grand?

Hugs,
Stephanie

I think you two are a perfect match! I love this outfit you created and that model has been captured in all her little girliness!!
